It’s all quiet in the office. Between Christmas we run “skeleton staff”, so really only as many staff as we need for this quiet period. It’s a good way for the others to have a break before the new year. So, I’m here in a nice quiet office manning the helpdesk, which is quiet.
The best part of it all, there’s not a mass of noise from phone calls going round the room, no people stressed out and lots of music on the MP3 player, which can’t happen very much during the normal working week because I zone out a bit too much into the music and my work, so if someone needs my help I’m not really there.
So I’m dealing with customer issues, which aren’t many – I guess they are having a break too – whilst the MP3 player shuffles between Queen, Thin Lizzy, Metallica and all kinds of other rock and metal to keep me happy.
I do like the quiet periods.
Now it’s time to eat my lunch and get back to the support desk
